Inchcape Motors Australia - Life / Work Balance Program for
Senior Execs

was anticipating significant corporate expansion over the next few years and offered
select group of their top executives to attend a Life by Design®
seminar and series of voluntary executive coaching sessions.
The goal was to help these senior staff achieve greater life / work balance,
and develop a personalised plan for their future based on their own life and work
priorities. This included creating a confidential personal development plan for
both work and life.
The follow-up executive coaching was optional, and a staggering 90% of the
course attendees chose to participate. In addition, several executives who had
not been included in the initial program asked to join (based on positive feedback
from colleagues), and the program was expanded to accommodate them.
Ian said "Inchcape is a forward thinking and innovative company. Happy executives
who are living a balanced life are not only more effective employees, but better
managers. I predict that simply focusing on a handful of senior staff for this
program may well have a very positive "trickle-down" effect throughout the entire
organisation."
An interesting outcome was the number of participants who had reported feeling
very positive about their lives before the program who reported even further improvements
after. One participant reported: "Although I was very pleased with my achievements
and positive with my life before your program, I believe that even this has improved.
Overall, everything is going exceptionally well. No problem is so difficult that
it can't be turned into an opportunity and then a solution. It's good fun!"
