Case Study
Financial Planning Association - Annual Conference
Approximately
2,500 financial planners attended the 2001 Financial Planning Association of Australia
Annual Conference.
A presenter had been brought out for the United States to run a session on
lifestyle planning, and Ian Hutchinson brought the material into the Australian
context.
Ian's presentation focused on turning the financial model on its head and putting
lifestyle first. The session was an enormous success, maxing out at 450 participants,
with others wishing to attend having to be turned away.
Of those who attended, 97% thought the session was excellent or good, and 94%
thought that it was extremely relevant to their business. The audio tape of Ian's
session was one of the top sellers at the Conference.
A spokesperson for the FPA said: "Outstanding. Ian was amazing, interesting
and entertaining. Delegates and the conference committee were truly delighted
with Ian. It's not very often a speaker comes along that pleases every-one. 80%
of attendees rated Ian as 'excellent' and the other 20% rated him as 'very good'.
Most importantly what he said makes sense and is usable in everyday life. Topic
relevance... just over 50% rated him as 10 out of 10 and 25% rated the topic relevance
as 9 out of 10... a tremendous rating. He was also flexible and easy to work with
..."
