Gratitude for Successful

Personally, I believe success is about being as happy as possible. One of the main things affecting our level of happiness is our own self-assessed level of success, purpose and meaning. Or in other words, our own level of self-appreciation and gratitude for what we already have.

Do you wish “If only I could be more successful and feel happier”?   Well you can be – right NOW!

Appreciation Increases The Value of Life

In the business world, if something appreciates, its value improves, right? Well it is exactly the same in our life too. If you appreciate what you already have, you automatically give it more value. The more value your life has the more meaning, and therefore, the happier you become.

For example, on a small scale, recently a friend of mine said they were finding it hard to get out of bed and go to work. Basically they were not inspired by their work. But what could they control about it?

The Simple Secret Is Gratitude, Appreciation & Thankfulness

Well for starters my friend could:

  • Be thankful that they have a job (when many others don’t)
  • Appreciate they have workmates that treat them well (when many others don’t)
  • Show gratitude that they have transport to go to work in (when many others don’t)
  • And the list goes on…

Thankfulness, appreciation & gratitude are the key, and they instantly alter our mindset and frame of reference about our situation into a more positive one.

There’s Great News – You’re In Control!

Gratitude, thankfulness and appreciation can all be internally created. This means that you have the power to generate unlimited value in every situation in your life. You can now be in control of improving your situation instantly. And it’s all FREE!!!

Try This New Skill Out Now

If you gave yourself permission, what could you be grateful for right now? Be specific in details, with health for example:

  • I walk to the bus stop (when some people can’t walk)
  • I live in a country with health care (when many others don’t)
  • I eat well every day (when many others can’t afford food)
  • I have fresh water to drink (when many others don’t)
  • I have a safe house to go home to each night (when many others don’t)
  • I get a restful sleep most nights in a warm bed (when street people don’t).

How about appreciating other areas of your life? Work? Family? Relationship? Social? Hobbies/Interests? Contribution to Society? Spiritual? Intellectual Growth?… oh yes and how about Money?

Use Your Time Wisely

Take a little time out each day to appreciate and be grateful for the things that you have.

Instead of getting frustrated waiting at traffic lights use the time wisely, turn it into a positive… and have a quick ‘Thankfulness Think.’

If you are bored in the dentist’s waiting room why not take two minutes and productively be proactive and ‘Grab Some Grateful Moments’.

Or why not do an ‘Appreciation Audit’ before you drift off to sleep. Maybe even have this rub off on others around you. If you have a partner or kids, ask them when you kiss them good night “What was the best thing you did today?”

“But I Want More – If Only I Had More Money”

It is human nature to want more, to grow, develop and progress. Yes but, first get this basic skill of gratitude ingrained into your way of being as an automatic reflex for when you hear yourself wanting more and therefore being ungrateful.

If you don’t appreciate what you already have why do you deserve getting anymore?

Would you be delighted giving a spoilt child more toys if they first didn’t appreciate the gifts that they already had?

The wealthy can sometimes be high consumers of materialistic items. Increased consumerism can be a sign of decreased appreciation for what we already have.

Heard of a friend feeling down so they go out for a bit of retail therapy? I’m betting that gratitude would have been a more beneficial and cheaper option, because a few hundred dollars later, they may be feeling worse off with the stress and guilt of a bulging credit card bill.

So with too much materialism can come the lack of gratitude. We need to empower ourselves as individuals to be grateful. Continual personal appreciation and thankfulness could revolutionise our society from the bottom up to be happier.  But it first starts with you.

Why Not Make Gratitude A Success Habit?

Practise the habit of thankfulness, be proactive about gratitude and cultivate appreciation about even the smallest things in your life.

Make it an automatic reflex response to be able to improve your level of happiness – instantly through gratitude.

Your Three Things

Every day appreciate three small things that have made the biggest difference in your life that day.

What three small things can you appreciate, be thankful for or grateful about so far today?

For example: What have you made progress on today? What small lessons have you learnt? What positive people have you had contact with today? What has put a smile on your face so far today?

1. ………………………………………………………………………………………….

2. ………………………………………………………………………………………….

3. ………………………………………………………………………………………….

Maybe, just maybe, you are more successful than you thought you were.

And the interesting thing is that many (in fact most) of the things that people appreciate, are grateful and thankful for in life cost hardly anything, in dollar terms anyway.  Possibly money isn’t as important as you thought?
